May 1962. Mike Burns is contacted by Bill McLauchlan.  McLauchlan commission Aerostructures to design and build an Aguatic Glider, for use as an attraction at McLauchlan's Water Ski Shows. Aug 1962. Final descision made on the design of the Aerostructures Skiplane. Sept. 1962. John Dickensom completes his first Gyro-copter January 1963. The Grafton Water-Ski Club asks John Dickenson To build and fly a water-ski kite for their show during the Jacaranda Festival to be held in October.
March 1963 John Dickenson is shown a photo of a di-conical winged  Paraglider being experimented with by NASA. Dickenson starts experimenting with models using bi-conical wings. April 1963. First flights of the Aerostructures Skiplane conducted on the Georges River, NSW, Australia.


May 1963 John Dickenson begins testing his half scale glider to test his Pendulum Weight-Shift Control System.


September 1963, first flights of the John Dickenson designed Skiwing occured on the 8th of Sept. First Pilot to successfully fly the Modern Hang Glider was Mr Rod Fuller of Grafton Australia.



Now with the A-frame, the Mark I Dickenson Wing is flown so that photos can be taken for the newspaper . The photos were used to help promote the Jacaranda Festival.



John Dickenson files a Provisional Patent Application on the 11th of October.
Jan 1964. On Australia Day, the 26th of January, the first modern hang glider, the Mark I. is broken up at the wood used to fire a babeque.




Febuary 1964. John Dickenson  flies his Mark II hang glider at Grafton.


March 1964 John Dickenson builds the first of the Mark III wings.


November 1965. John Dickenson leaves Grafton and returns to Sydney


June 1966, An Aerostructures Skiplane is exported to Cape Canaveral.
